Adnan Tokić studied law at the University of Vienna. He completed his degree, for which he was awarded several merit scholarships, in 2020 ahead of schedule. He completed his doctoral studies in 2025 on the topic of "Liability of corporate groups in antitrust law".

Between 2017 and 2020, Adnan Tokić worked at two renowned law firms in Vienna. After completing his studies, he completed his legal clerkship at the Vienna Higher Regional Court.

Adnan Tokić was initially research and teaching assistant (prae doc) to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Florian Schuhmacher, LL.M., from 2021 until his death in 2024, and then to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Friedrich Rüffler, LL.M., at the Department of Commercial and Business Law at the University of Vienna. In addition, Adnan Tokić was a research assistant at the Austrian Supreme Court. 

Since October 2025, Adnan Tokić has been postdoctoral researcher and habilitation candidate (post doc) at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law at the chair of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Jaeger, LL.M.

During his work at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna, Adnan Tokić was awarded research grants by the Graf Hardegg'sche Privatstiftung and Ars Iuris Vienna – Doctoral School. He also completed a research stay at Bocconi University in Milan. Adnan Tokić is a member of the editorial team of the University of Vienna Law Review, a founding member and organiser of the "Wirtschaftsprivatrechtliche Nachwuchstagung", a young scholars conference on private commercial law, and editor of the annual conference proceedings, as well as a member of the "Junge Rechtswissenschaft Juridicum" alumni association.
