Univ.-Ass. Patrik Marek, LL.M., BSc., LL.B., studied Business Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) from 2016 to 2022, where he completed both the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and the Master in Business Law (LL.M.). In addition, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Social Sciences (BSc.) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2020. During his master's degree in business law, he specialized in antitrust law, M&A, IT law, constitutional jurisdiction, legal theory, economics of competition and game theory. Since 2022, he has been continuing his studies in business administration (MSc.) at the University of Vienna, specializing in business law, international financial accounting and economic sociology in his master's degree. In his master's theses, he dealt with the forms of infringement of Art. 101 (1) TFEU in the context of algorithmic pricing mechanisms and the extension of European cartel fine liability in holding companies for parent companies.He gained practical experience through legal internships, including in tax consultancy and in an Upper Austrian law firm specializing in civil and corporate law. He completed his court practice in Vienna at the District Court, the Regional Criminal Court and the Labor and Social Court.
2025, he will complete his Master's degree in Business Administration at the University of Vienna. Patrik Marek has been working as a university assistant (prae doc) at the Institute for European, International and Comparative Law since 2024.
