A keynote speech by Christoph Schreuer opened the conference. Following the keynote speech, numerous renowned speakers, including Michael Hahn, Nikos Lavranos, Anne Thies, Lukas Stifter, Federico Ortino, Christian Tietje, Christina Binder, Christoph Herrmann, Nicolaj Kuplewatzky, Patricia Nacimiento and Catherine Kessedijan discussed new developments in EU investment policy. In four panels they covered four main topics, namely "The EU and the Multilateral Reform Process", "The EU External Investment Policy", "Intra-EU Substantive Investment Protection" and "Intra-EU Procedural Investment Protection". More than 100 participants attended the conference and engaged in the discussions.
The event was supported by the Jean Monnet Chair of Prof. Dr. Marc Bungenberg, the University of Vienna, the Arbeitskreis Europäische Integration, the Hermann and Dr. Charlotte Deutsch Foundation and the ASKO Europa Foundation.
